Spent the afternoon with Sue and George at Heritage Park today (after a failed attempt at going to the zoo - the zoo had a power failure as we were in line for tickets and since they didn't know for how long - we changed our minds).
We decided to head towards the farmhouse and the Fort this time and it was really nice. I haven't been down to that end of the park for a very very long time and some things have changed. They have a whole area surrounding the Fort that I don't remember ever being there - or maybe it has just been too long. On the way there we stopped by the RMCP building and they had it opened and we were arrested and put in the RMCP jail.
We were let out for good behaviour - tee hee.
They have improved a lot of the park and made it more inter-active and educational, every building we went into had someone inside to answer questions about the building, it was nice to visit the homes, shops (especially my favorite - the bakery - yum!), the school house and of course the train building.
All throughout the park the flowers were in bloom and although there were dark clouds and it sprinkled a bit on us - the afternoon was a good one.

It was super cute to watch one of the 3 week old piglets vying for a spot to suckle
(he did end up pushing his way in and getting a spot)
